I have been invested continuously into the market since 2016. I invest primarily with the free investing broker, M1 Finance. I am not a financial advisor. Investing and trading involve the risk of losing money. I started developing this site on 11/22/2023, so please share my site with others if you like it. I believe writing makes things real, so this site also serves as a journal for me, and I think every investor and/or trader should keep a journal.

TSLA - Technical or an Analysts' Chart

I had one buy in the ROTH account on Friday, TSLA. This is my worst unrealized gain 1% allocation holding. I used auto invest to buy this holding in the M1 Finance account. I removed one allocation point from VGT to overweight this one holding, TSLA, to a 2% allocation. I lowered my average price, which is below analysts' average one year price targets.

Taxable Account Highest Yield - Dividends

I start writing a post on Patreon, and I decide where I want to copy and paste that article, which would include my facebook group, "Investing and Trading with M1 Finance" and/or my website. The picture shows my highest yielding assets. Assets with high yields not included in the picture include: PML, PDI, HYT, and GOF. Barchart does not have this information. These four holdings pay monthly. I like posting on Patreon first because I can organize posts and their topics "collections" easily. I can also see when I wrote about a topic. I customize columns with barchart. The five year change column does not include dividends received, unfortunately.

Rebalance Sells- Taxable Account Activity

I did not invest into the 71 holding taxable account this week. I did three rebalance sells, which included: NVDA, TQQQ, and UPRO  I transfered the cash, $257.70, into my savings. I will be trying to contribute the maximum into my ROTH as quickly as possible my realizing gains in the taxable account. I am lowering the values of positive holdings, so auto invest will be buying these holdings sooner when I do start investing again in the taxable account. I am doing five more rebalance sells on Monday. The picture shows the best holdings for the week.

Returns - ROTH Activity

I deposited $340 into the ROTH account this week and reinvested $6.35 in dividends. The picture shows my all time money weighted returns. I have had the account for about five years, but I have invested $5705.85, including dividends, within the last year. I am auto investing currently, but I have been doing rebalance sells of my highest value 1% allocation holdings with unrealized gains and reinvesting. I did a rebalance of NVDA today and AMD yesterday.

Auto Investing - My Strategies

I deposited $50 into the ROTH account today. I am getting close to contributing the maximum of $6,500 for the tax year of 2023. I can contribute another $600 towards 2023 contributions. The market has not been great, so my 25% cash position has been staying overweight. I deposited $100 to invest tomorrow. The picture shows a few of my 1% allocation holdings that auto invest will probably buy.

A Rebalance Sell of MLM - Taxable Account Activity

I did a rebalance sell of MLM in my M1 Finance taxable account. The picture shows my highest value 1% allocation holdings with a 7D ADX (7 day average direction indicator) of a sell. I enter my shares and average prices into my www.barchart.com portfolio. MLM was at the top of this list before my trades. I reinvested the money into my lowest value 1% allocation holdings with a 7D ADX of a buy and at least 5% in unrealized gains (the total percent change column). My buys included: BAH, PG, V, and KO. I am considering doing a wash sell of MPW, but I need to wait at least 31 days past my last purchase date for the loss to qualify.

1/16/2024 - Stock Buys

I deposited $40 into the M1 Finance ROTH account. My buys will include: SSO, QLD, PBA, LEN.B, and LLY. I am manually buying half the amount SSO and QLD are underweight. I am overweighting PBA, LEN.B, and LLY from 1% to 2% allocations. I am manually buying the entire portfolio, which is the same as auto investing. These three buys are my lowest value holdings with a 7D ADX (7 day average directional indicator) of a buy. The picture shows my holdings using barchart.

Earnings - My Strategies

This picture shows some of my 71 holdings within my taxable account. I manually enter my shares and average prices into www.barchart.com for free. I customize the columns. I added a new column to this view, "Latest Earnings" and arranged it by companies announcing earnings first. Prices of assets fluctuate a lot before and after earnings dates, so I do not want to be overweight those holdings.

Best Holdings for the Week - ROTH Activity

I am auto investing in this M1 Finance account, so I assign a target allocation to each holding, and all holdings total 100%. I am manually buying SSO and QLD, half the amount they are underweight or half the amount they are under their target allocations. I could just auto invest, but doing a rebalance sell of these holdings, when they become overweight, is what I consider trading. I invested $100 today.

1/11/2024 - Unrealized Gains

This picture shows my best unrealized gain holdings in one of my taxable accounts. I am reinvesting some dividends, but I am focused on contributing the maximum into the ROTH account first every year. I reinvested $8.89 in dividends today. I bought my three lowest value 1% allocation holdings with unrealized gains above 5%, which included: RICK, BAH, and PG.

How I Invest into Leveraged Funds - My Strategies

I own SSO and QLD in the ROTH account and UPRO and TQQQ in the taxable account. SSO is 2 times the SP500. QLD is two times QQQ. UPRO is three time the SP500. TQQQ is three times QQQ. There is added expense to investing into these assets, which is taken out of the share price. I trade these assets, so if they are underweight, then I buy up to their target allocations. If they are overweight, then I sell down to their target allocations. They are volatile (move up and down by large amounts), so I will usually only buy or sell half the amount they are underweight or overweight. The picture shows the actual asset weight of SSO and QLD in the ROTH account and the target weights. I am careful about changing the target allocations. I do not raise targets unless I have some gains in a holding or the market has dropped and the holding becomes negative.
